President Trump answered a few questions after landing at the White House this morning, including; “Are you calling on your supporters to boycott the NFL?”, to which Trump answered and claimed that he did not, an easily verifiable lie. Trump also tried to play off the importance of the boycott he condoned, and said that he doesn’t care whether his supporters boycott the NFL. It’s almost unbelievable, but it was all caught on camera.
“Are you calling on your supporters to boycott the NFL?”, the reporter asked Trump. “No not at all, I don’t care, they can do whatever they want,” Trump answered, “I’m just, I’m just telling you, from my standpoint, I think it’s very disrespectful to our country. Thank you all very much!” Trump immediately walked away from the reporters after delivering this lie, but it turns out that he wasn’t finished.

Trump then had the audacity to attack reporters, after attempting to walk away from them, asking, “Why don’t you check your records before you make a statement?” The irony here is literally mind numbing, considering he said this just after denying that he called for a boycott of the NFL. You can see Trump attempt to pull off this nonsense in the clip below, straight from the White House itself.
Trump clearly called for a boycott of the NFL over the weekend, when he shared a post on social media saying, “You can boycott our anthem WE CAN BOYCOTT YOU!”
This is one of Trump’s worst lies, considering the circumstances. He has self manufactured all this controversy about protesting the national anthem, while seemingly paying little attention to the horrible crisis occurring in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Then, after all this controversy, he has the audacity to lie about calling for a boycott of the NFL, when the evidence that he did is beyond doubt.
