Hertha BSC, a German soccer/football team based in Berlin, has just likely kicked off a new round of peaceful protest against the hateful ways of President Trump. Players and coaching staff of Hertha BSC took a knee before their game against Schalke today, in support of “tolerance and responsibility.”

The team did not explicit call out President Trump by name, but their reference to supporting “tolerance and responsibility,” combined with the fact that they are kneeling, just as NFL players have recently done so, obviously indicates that they are joining in the protest of Trump.
This protest will enrage Trump even more than NFL protesters because these international players are totally beyond any type of influence Trump might have. Trump cannot threaten their teams like he did with NFL owners, as he has no authority over German associations in another country.
This just happened today and we can probably expect to see more protests like this from other soccer/football teams. Trump is the antithesis of former President Obama internationally and has a terrible reputation among residents of other countries. Soccer, known internationally as football, is the most popular sport globally. If other teams start kneeling like the Germans did today, we will see worldwide solidarity against Trump like never seen before.
