MSNBC Just Mocked Trump’s War On Christmas Obsession With An Obama Montage

It’s hard to keep track of them all, but Trump just brought back one of his favorite conspiracy theories and this one’s perfect for the holiday season. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes called him on his BS with a compilation of clips that effortlessly shut down the President’s claims.

In a speech in Missouri on Wednesday ostensibly meant to promote the Tax Bill, Trump slipped right back into his comfort zone, fear mongering about the “war on Christmas.”

“You go to the department stores and you see ‘happy New Year,’ and you see red, and you see snow, and you see all these things. You don’t see ‘merry Christmas’ anymore,” he said.

This is actually a much more nuanced and oblique reference than he’s usually capable of to his old attacks on President Obama, and the claim that he never said “Merry Christmas.”

As usual, there’s a tweet for everything.

On MSNBC’s “All in with Chris Hayes,” Chris Hayes deftly rebutted this particular bit of fake news with a comprehensive collection of the many, many times the Obamas wished Americans a merry Christmas.

Expect the usual White House defense on this one – even if the tapes aren’t, the threat is real. At this rate, Congress probably would accept that as a reason to pass defense spending to fund The War on Christmas.
