Mother Of Fallen Soldier Respond’s To Trump’s Callous Phone Call Like A True Patriot

When news broke that President Trump had finally, after two long weeks, contacted the wife of a soldier killed in Niger, LaDavid Johnson, controversy erupted immediately. Of course it did; Donald Trump is the president.

The mother of that fallen soldier, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, is now speaking out, saying that the president was extremely disrespectful and is not being honest about the reported phone call.

Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) told the press that she was with Johnson’s widow when President Trump made the long-delayed phone call. According to Miami’s local news station:

‘The president called about 4:45 p.m. and spoke to Johnson’s pregnant widow, Myeshia Johnson, for about five minutes. She is a mother to Johnson’s surviving 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. The conversation happened before Johnson’s remains arrived at Miami International Airport on a commercial Delta Airlines flight.’
During that phone call, Rep. Wilson states that Trump made an incredibly insensitive comment which drove the pregnant, grieving widow to burst into tears. “He knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurts.”

The Washington Post reported Wilson’s statement as saying:

‘“She was crying the whole time, and when she hung up the phone, she looked at me and said, ‘He didn’t even remember his name.’ That’s the hurting part.

‘Wilson went on to say Trump “was almost like joking. He said, ‘Well, I guess you knew’ — something to the effect that ‘he knew what he was getting into when he signed up, but I guess it hurts anyway.’ You know, just matter-of-factly, that this is what happens, anyone who is signing up for military duty is signing up to die. That’s the way we interpreted it. It was horrible. It was insensitive. It was absolutely crazy, unnecessary. I was livid.”’
Trump insists that the comments were fabricated and that he has “proof” of what was actually stated in that call. There is no word as of yet if that proof is being kept alongside the “proof” of President Obama’s fake birth certificate and the “proof” of Obama’s wiretapping.

Cowanda Jones-Johnson told reporters at The Washington Post that:

‘President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband.’
While Jones-Johnson declined to comment on the rest of the phone call from the president, she confirmed that Rep. Wilson’s account was entirely accurate.

Trump has two choices after Sgt. LaDavid Johnson’s mother made this statement. Apologize and recognize how inflammatory these types of comments are, or continue to lie and attack a gold star family.

It isn’t difficult to imagine what his choice will be.
