According to The Associated Press, Vice President Pence dismissed allegations that Donald Trump had an extramarital affair with an adult film star as “baseless.”
Pence said that he was “not going to comment on the latest baseless allegations against the president.” Pence made the comments while traveling in Israel during a three-nation tour of the Middle East.

Pence is the highest-ranking administration official to react to the allegations, which have renewed scrutiny of Trump’s personal life and treatment of women.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, formed a shell company to arrange a six-figure payment to the adult film actress, who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels, to ensure she did not speak out about the alleged relationship during the 2016 campaign.
Cohen and the White House have denied that Trump had an affair with Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford.
“This is now the second time that you are raising outlandish allegations against my client,” Cohen said in a statement to the Journal. “You have attempted to perpetuate this false narrative for over a year; a narrative that has been consistently denied by all parties since at least 2011.”
Last week, InTouch published excerpts from a 2011 interview with Daniels in which she claimed she had a sexual encounter with Trump back in 2006, when he was married to Melania Trump.
“The sex was textbook generic,” Daniels told the magazine. “I actually don’t even know why I did it, but I do remember while we were having sex, I was like, ‘Please, don’t try to pay me.’ ”
