Fox Reporter Asks McCain A ‘Stupid’ Question & Johnnie Instantly Goes Off The Rails

Arizona’s GOP Senator John McCain is not interested in engaging the president or his allies on their petty issues of public image or in their petty squabbles.

The president has come after him time and time again at this point, but McCain has stuck by what he believes in — although, on some issues at least, McCain’s viewpoints diverge from those held by many of us. Still, at least he has a sense of how to reason and debate important issues.

In the halls of the Senate this week, Sen. McCain confronted one of those without such a sense in the form of Fox reporter Peter Doocy.

Doocy confronted the Senator with a slanted question designed to force McCain to engage with the public back and forth that the president is desperately hoping will continue. After all, if it continues, then he gets to devote attention to the one thing he actually has experience dealing with — his public image.

Instead of jumping in on the chaos that the president, like some sort of overgrown schoolyard bully, doesn’t mind creating, McCain refused to answer Doocy’s question and instead told him off.

Doocy asked the Senator:

‘Has your relationship with the president frayed to the point that you are not going to support anything that he comes to you and asks for?’
McCain took that question as suggesting that he is not going to carry on with doing what he feels is right in his capacity as a senator, and is going to opt instead to prioritize petty political conflicts, as the president does.

He replied to Doocy by saying:

‘Why would you say something that stupid? Why would you ask something that dumb? My job as a United States senator is a senator from Arizona which I was just re-elected to. You mean that I am somehow going to behave in a way that I’m going to block everything because of some personal disagreement? That’s a dumb question.’
Trump has, as mentioned, fired off at McCain time and time again, with the first public expression of his distaste for the Senator coming all the way back in 2015 at the start of the presidential race when he attacked the Senator over having been taken prisoner during the Vietnam War.
